Reiki Examples
A cat was in the end stages of kidney
failure, very lethargic, vomiting, not eating; the client told me her
cat would probably pass while she was away. After receiving Reiki at the
first visit of the trip, the cat perked up in front of my very eyes, ate
beautifully, and was able to spend the next two months living a good
quality of life with her human companions.
Every time I made a visit to a certain
cat, he hid under the couch and would run if I approached. After
receiving Reiki from a distance one time, the cat came right up to me
when I arrived at his house and we've been best friends ever since. He
never again showed any signs of fear or shyness when I would visit. He loves
the Reiki he receives at every visit.
Another cat was also very shy but did
become friendlier after receiving Reiki. The cat still shows some signs
of reserve, but I am willing to let him progress as far as he wants to
go, in his own timing. The client remarked how much more loving he had
become with her.
A dog exhibited his anxiety via numerous
diarrhea episodes when changes were made in his home. After receiving
one five-minute Reiki session and giving him a lavender essential oils
massage, his diarrhea stopped and did not return. The client was given
other suggestions on how to help him adjust to his new living situation.
He has since adjusted beautifully.
Due to boredom and separation anxiety, a dog would continually nibble on
his tail, causing a sore that could never completely heal. This dog
received five minutes of Reiki at every visit (three times a week),
along with a lavender massage, and after a couple weeks he left his tail
alone and his sore healed (lavender was also put on the sore).
The examples above are pretty miraculous. I believe it is
easier for animals to heal on the physical and emotional levels because
they don't have all the other issues that humans have to sort through.
Even if your animal doesn't have a current "challenge," Reiki is still
an enjoyable treat for them.
Sometimes, though, in the case of either animals or humans, it may seem
that no changes have occurred after a Reiki session. Or perhaps
there is a pain or dis-ease that continues after Reiki has been given,
or the result is not what we may have initially chosen. Reiki works to the
receiver's highest good and often we do not know or understand what that
is. Be assured, though, that Reiki is doing its job and is helping the
receivers to facilitate and progress in their own healing, in their own
timing and their own way. Often the changes are so subtle you don't even see them
happening as they occur, but as you look back over time, the
improvements are obvious and the changes are for the highest
good.
